The JADE Spring Meeting (JSM) Closing Ceremony 2014 took place at the Solvay Business School in Brussels, on Saturday 8th of March 2014.
After two informative and interactive workshops early in that same morning, I was ecstatic to hear the guest speakers share their words of wisdom. In particular, I was deeply enlightened by the words of Mr. Heinz Ludwig Klein, who is the Former CEO of A.T. Kearney, one of the leading global management consulting firms. Indeed, I should be able to learn something invaluable from Mr. Klein, which in fact happened!
Mr. Klein inspired an intellectual and applicable series that we would like to publish over the course of the next 2 months. Considering that we have just introduced new recruits to our Westminster Business Consultants (WBC) family, we found it fit to explain the “10 Essentials Consultants Ought to Remember”.
During his presentation, Mr. Klein explained based on these 10 tips, according to the wise words of Founder Andrew Kearney:
“Our success as consultants will depend upon the essential rightness of advice given … convincing those in authority that it is good.” – Mr. Andrew Kearney (1892 – 1962)
On this premise, we can firmly agree, that this is the basis for effective business and/or management consulting.
He proposed that these 10 essentials include:
- Technical Competence
- Analytical Thinking
- Diligence and Precision
- Persuasiveness
- Resourceful and Positive
- Objectivity
- Discretion
- Intellectual Honesty
- Humility
- Teamwork
In this series, WBC’s Marketing Consultants will try to explore each paradigm and apply this to better improve best practices and the way that we do business with clients and partners. Furthermore, we hope that this series will not only help enhance our juniour enterprise and consulting ethos, but also, inspire others to do the same.
